Hamed joined the ABV investment team in 2023. As Principal, he works alongside our portfolio companies to support their early-stage development to ensure their sustainable growth and profitability.

Having spent equal parts of his career between investment banking and tech/start-ups, Hamed brings with him 14 years of experience and a unique perspective to ABV’s portfolio

Prior to joining ABV, he was a member of the senior leadership team at Trella, an Egypt-based technology platform aiming to digitise logistics, where he built the central operations function and launched all four of Trella’s markets (Egypt, KSA, UAE and Pakistan). Before joining Trella, Hamed spent three years at Uber where he worked across various Ops functions serving the Middle East and Africa.

Hamed began his career in Investment Banking, starting as an equity research analyst at Beltone Financial, working closely with C-suite officers across the MENA region, and advising top fund managers across the world on equity investment opportunities from the Consumer Goods and Services sector. He then went on to spend four years at CI Capital as an Investment Banking Associate, where he worked on various deals ranging from ECM/DCM, and M&A transactions.

Hamed holds a bachelor’s degree from the German University in Cairo, with a double major in Finance and International Business. He has also successfully completed Strategy and Leadership Executive Education at Harvard Business School Online, is a Certified Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, and a CFA Level III candidate. When he’s not in a business suit, Hamed enjoys being a PADI Certified Rescue SCUBA diver, an active athlete and huge sports fan, an avid traveller, and a music enthusiast.
